Last updated: July 2025

Canal Food Walk is a sole proprietorship registered under SIRET number 94286315000010, with its professional address located in Paris, France.

These General Terms and Conditions of Sale govern the booking, participation, and cancellation policies for food tours organized by Canal Food Walk. Any booking implies full acceptance of these terms and conditions.

1. Purpose

Canal Food Walk offers guided walks combining gastronomy, history, and architecture around the Canal Saint-Martin in Paris. The experience includes several tasting stops at partner establishments.

2. Booking

Bookings are made through the website www.canalfoodwalk.com or via partner platforms. Orders placed on www.canalfoodwalk.com are considered firm and final upon full payment.

Confirmation of a booking via the website constitutes acceptance of these terms and conditions, which are available on the site at all times.

For bookings made via partner platforms (Airbnb, Viator, etc.), the terms and conditions specific to those platforms apply.

3. Prices

Prices are stated in euros, including all taxes and fees. Canal Food Walk is not subject to VAT. Canal Food Walk reserves the right to change its rates at any time, but services will be billed at the rate in effect at the time of booking.

4. Payment

Payment is made online via a secure system managed by the Ticket Tailor platform, in collaboration with third-party payment providers such as Stripe or PayPal.

No cash payments are accepted on site.

5. Cancellation – Changes

• Cancellation by the customer: a rescheduling or full refund is possible up to 72 hours (3 days) before the start of the food tour.

• After this period, no refunds will be issued, regardless of the reason (including delay, prevention, withdrawal, or no-show, even if absence is notified).

• Cancellation by Canal Food Walk: in case of exceptional unavailability (illness, logistical issue, extreme weather conditions), the tour may be rescheduled or refunded in full. An alternative solution (voucher, different date) may also be offered.

6. Delays and Absence

The meeting point is clearly indicated in the confirmation email. If delayed more than 10 minutes, the customer may rejoin the ongoing tour; the guide will provide the current location. To ensure smooth operations, it is recommended to arrive 10 to 15 minutes early.

In case of unnotified absence, late cancellation, or delay that prevents participation, the tour will begin without the attendee and no refund or rescheduling will be offered.

7. Weather Conditions

The tour takes place even in moderate rain. Participants are advised to bring an umbrella or raincoat.

In case of severe weather making the experience impossible or unsafe, Canal Food Walk may offer a reschedule, credit, or full refund at its discretion.

8. Liability

Canal Food Walk acts as an intermediary between participants and partner restaurants or shops.

Each participant is responsible for their own behavior and health during the tour.

Each tasting is under the sole responsibility of the providing establishment, particularly regarding food safety, allergens, hygiene, and traceability. Canal Food Walk disclaims all liability in the event of allergic reaction, food poisoning, or other harm resulting from the consumption of food products.

9. Personal Data

Data collected during bookings are processed in accordance with applicable laws. They are used solely for order processing and Canal Food Walk’s commercial communication, and are never sold to third parties.

For any request regarding your personal data or the exercise of your rights (access, rectification, deletion), please refer to the “Contact” section of this website.

10. Applicable Law and Disputes

These terms and conditions are governed by French law. Any dispute relating to their interpretation or execution will be subject to the competent courts in Paris.

In case of dispute, an amicable resolution will be sought first before any legal proceedings.

11. Exclusion for Inappropriate Behavior

Any inappropriate, disrespectful, violent, or disruptive behavior toward the guide, other participants, or partner venues may result in immediate exclusion from the tour without refund or compensation. Canal Food Walk reserves this right to preserve the quality, safety, and conviviality of the experience.

12. Intellectual Property

All content on the website (texts, images, presentation elements, educational or cultural content of the tour) is the exclusive property of Canal Food Walk and may not be reproduced without written authorization.

13. Booking Platform and Payment Management

Bookings and payments are handled through the Ticket Tailor platform, which provides secure order processing. Payments are made online through third-party providers such as Stripe or PayPal. Canal Food Walk does not have access to clients’ banking data, which is securely processed by these providers.

14. Extras During the Tour

Any expenses related to extras during the tour are at the customer’s discretion. Aside from what is included in the offer, no extras will be requested from the customer either during or after the tour.

15. Customer Reviews

Customer reviews displayed on the Canal Food Walk website come from various independent platforms such as Airbnb, Viator, and others. All published reviews are from clients who have actually participated in a tour, and Canal Food Walk strives to ensure their authenticity and transparency.
